House rules?

I came up with a doubt. Portal cards became legal in Legacy and Vintage some time ago. Yet, we're not using them at all, even though there some that are quite interesting.
I ask if we're to make a house rule about it and ban them or should we be allowed to use them? I ask this because I might want to play with one in a deck I'm building but I'm not sure I should.
